• In your new role you work in close collaboration with internal partners to deliver Bioinformatics and Computational Biology expertise to all clinical drug development programs & trials.

• With your expertise you ensure the best use of clinical genomics data in all therapeutic areas of BI.

• By using state-of-the-art computational biology tools and databases you analyze complex biological and large scale multi-omics data. In particular, you analyze genomics and biomarker data with a focus on DNA sequencing incl. variation and methylation analyses but also e.g. transcriptomics, microbiomics or GWAS.

• Utilizing your networking skills you support and build collaborations with external partners, contract research organizations (CROs), academic institutions and consortia.

• You provide competent support in the development, implementation and use of software tools, databases and technologies within a regulated environment.

• With your know-how you ensure the application of the appropriate quality standards (e.g. GCP and respective documentation).


Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology or a related Life Sciences degree combined with deep expertise in the field of Computational Biology and Genomics.

• Several years of professional experience in the field of Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Profound knowledge of biological mechanisms and application of computational biology methods to impact drug discovery and development with a focus on translational aspects especially in the field of oncology.

• In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art bioinformatics data sources and tools as well as demonstrated skills to collect, integrate, mine and analyze complex biological data.

• Comprehensive knowledge of statistics and quantitative data analysis.

• Experience in working in a regulated environment is a plus.

• Very good organizational skills, analytical understanding, and a goal- as well as team-oriented working style.

• Excellent communication skills in English– both spoken and written.
