Description

We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join Dr. Sohrab Shah’s new laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. We are establishing a significant new initiative in the field of Computational Oncology [www.mskcc.org/departments/epidemiology-biostatistics/computational-oncology] motivated by new advances in machine learning and AI tools, ultra-high resolution measurement technologies and massive high dimensional datasets available at MSKCC. Trainees in this new endeavor will help define the future of computing as it relates to understanding cancer and advancing cancer care. We are seeking early career scientists with research expertise and interest in computational biology and bioinformatics to lead projects in cancer evolution, single cell genomics, mutational processes and timeseries analysis of drug response. Applicants should have an interest in algorithms, mathematical and statistical modeling, Bayesian statistics and/or artificial intelligence applied to cancer focused problems. Applicants must possess a PhD in relevant discipline such as computer science, statistics, data science, bioinformatics and computational biology and have a demonstrated publication track record. Candidates seeking an academic or industry career are encouraged to apply. A background in cancer biology especially in ovarian or breast cancer would be considered an asset.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter indicating the reason for the application, curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information for 3 references to Katherine Cheung at wongk1@mskcc.org (646-888-8301) [Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 485 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10017].
