Lecturer in Statistics (duration 3-years)

Reporting to the Head of School, the appointee will teach Statistics to a broad range of students with varying levels of quantitative ability. The Department makes major contributions to honours level undergraduate programmes in Mathematical Sciences, in Financial Mathematics & Actuarial Science, in Risk and Actuarial Studies and from September 2018, in Data Science and Analytics. The School also provides service courses to students in all four Colleges of the University at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. There is also commitment to postgraduate teaching of applied Statistical methods as a key support for improvement of the quality in quantitative research.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a PhD in an area of Statistics, including Data Analytics. Applicants must have relevant teaching experience or evidence of teaching potential at undergraduate and postgraduate level both in and outside their area of research specialisation and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Evidence of expertise/interest in an area of current methodological focus in Statistical research, including Data Analytics, is essential.
