Description

The Su Lab is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the "Gene Wiki" team, the goal of which is to use crowdsourcing to organize biomedical knowledge. While this project previously revolved around free-text, gene-specific reviews in Wikipedia, it now centers around integrating structured data in the context of Wikidata. This position will involve data modeling using biomedical ontologies, writing computer programs for data integration within Wikidata, using SPARQL to perform integrative queries, and/or building web applications using Wikidata as a back end knowledge source.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or computational biology, or a Ph.D. in experimental biology plus intermediate programming experience. Prior research in the areas of infectious diseases, microbiology, or rare diseases is particularly useful (though not required). Qualified women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
