Description

The Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE to pursue exciting research in Bioinformatics and Computational Systems Biology. The incumbent will develop novel computational tools and data analysis pipelines to analyze multi-omics data, write manuscripts and assist in grant writing. Related research projects in Dr. Babu Guda’s computational biology laboratory include development of novel tools related to cancer genomics, metagenomics of human microbiomes, detection of fusion genes and single-cell transcriptome analysis. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or in a related field with strong and relevant publication record. Programming in Perl or Python, C/C++ or Java, and R are required. Working knowledge of Linux-based systems, scheduling jobs on super computers, and relational databases is preferred. Prior post-doctoral training in life sciences would be preferred.
