We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist experienced in computational biology to study the pathways mediating intra-neuronal transport of toxic aggregates in various neurodegenerative diseases. This position is part of a collaboration with three other European laboratories. Our contribution is to reconstruct, characterize, and model relevant biochemical pathways, to integrate and analyse high-throughput data in collaboration with other partners, to integrate and analyse human post-mortem data develop data resources and to compare mouse and human pathways.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an advanced knowledge of biochemical pathways, if possible involved in intra-neuronal transports. They will be at ease with computational methods, including database mining, bioinformatics analysis and mathematical modelling. The successful candidate will have a PhD in a scientific or technological field, and prior knowledge of computational systems biology. Experience either with the main approaches used to model biochemical pathways, and familiarity with the main tools in the field, or experience in bioinformatics analysis of omics and clinical data are essential. In addition, the candidate must be an experienced Linux user.
