The Survey Research Center (SRC) within the Institute for Social Research (ISR) at the University of Michigan has an open rank (tenured or tenure-track) position in the Population, Neurodevelopment, and Genetics (PNG) Program. PNG currently consists of six scholars with funded research projects that link many different disciplinary perspectives including developmental, cognitive, clinical, sociological, demographic, public health, and educational science with neurobiology and genomics. We are seeking to expand our emphasis on combining social scientific data and genomics: especially work on genome-wide association studies, polygenic scores, gene-based analyses (rare variant, SKAT, etc.), and epigenetics to examine health and behavior across the lifespan.
We are particularly interested in scholars who examine mental health and cognition though other emphases are acceptable. The position may include developing joint collaborations with existing PNG faculty with ongoing research projects and mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows from U-M academic departments and research centers. In addition, ISR has world renowned data archives and data collection projects that may afford additional opportunities for collaboration.
SRC is a unique, world renowned social science research center that conducts investigator-initiated, survey based research on theoretical and applied problems of both social and scientific importance. Please see www.src.isr.umich.edu/ for more details.
