The Department of Computer Science and Applied Bioinformatics at the University of Tübingen has several openings in the BMBF-sponsored DIFUTURE project. We are looking for
Research associates in Computer Science, Medical Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Data Integration and Data Analysis

The full-time positions will initially run for four years.

We are looking for team players with a scientific interest in building up a medical data integration center. We expect you to work independently and on your own initiative. More information about the project can be found at difuture.de.

We expect you to be willing to
• participate in the development and evaluation of new methods and (software) tools in biomedical informatics and medical data science.
• be involved in the entire open-source software development process for complex applications, including design, implementation, tests, evaluation, use and maintenance.
• contribute to the publication of scientific results and the production of technical documentation.
• develop and implement security and data protection protocols.
• cooperate with German and international partners.

and display
• good interpersonal skills and fluency in spoken and written English.

Part time positions are possible. You may also pursue a doctorate in the context of this project if you fulfill all the criteria.
We offer remuneration following the collective wage agreement „TV-Land“ for public-sector employees of the German federal states as well as all of the usual benefits of the public sector. Qualifications

Your profile:
• You have successfully completed your university studies with a degree (BSc/MSc/Diploma/PhD) in computer science, medical computer science, biomedical informatics or a similar field.
• You have extensive knowledge in the design, implementation and application of software and interfaces in a production environment.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities may have included:
• The integration and interoperability of clinical healthcare data and biomedical research data from various sources using different formats and data models.
• Database systems and data warehouse systems for biomedical data.
• Machine learning using biomedical data.
• Automated processing and analysis of medical image data.
• Cloud computing in a biomedical environment.
We would also welcome a profound knowledge of technical and organizational standards and procedures in the healthcare sector and in clinical and biomedical research, as well as knowledge of and experience with hospital information systems such as SAP IS-H, i.s.h.med, LIMS and relevant standards like HL7, IHE, DICOM.
