Principal Investigator position in Bioinformatics at the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer

The Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal (UdeM) invites applications for a Principal Investigator position in the broad domain of Bioinformatics. IRIC and UdeM are committed to developing world class expertise in this field. The new Principal Investigator will play pivotal roles in complementing the research strengths of the Institute.

Specifically, outstanding applications are sought in the areas of software and algorithm development for integrative bioinformatics analysis of systems-wide datasets, machine learning, big data analysis, mechanisms of biological information processing, and mathematical modeling of biological networks.

The new Principal Investigator will be cross-appointed in a Department of the Faculty of Medicine of UdeM. Selected candidates may be eligible also for a researcher position within IVADO (ivado.ca/en/) the new UdeM institute for research in data science, operations research and artificial intelligence.

About IRIC
The primary objective of IRIC is to elucidate the molecular underpinnings of cancer and to devise innovative approaches to cure cancer. IRIC is located in a state-of-the-art new building on the main campus of UdeM. It currently hosts 28 Principal Investigators and over 450 trainees, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research associates and support staff. IRIC also comprises several cutting edge technological platforms. These include Bioimaging, Biophysics & NMR, Flow Cytometry, Genomics, High-Throughput Screening (chemical, RNAi, and CRISPR), Histology, Medicinal Chemistry, Proteomics, and one of the largest animal facilities in Canada. Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, and have a strong publication record. Candidates will be expected to develop an innovative, internationally recognized, externally funded research program.
