One full time position as Post-doctoral fellow is available at the Department of Research, in the project ‘Immunoprofiles of pathogens causing cervical and other HPV-related cancers’, for a period of 2 years.

As a part of the Research Department, research group for HPV-related cancers, the Cancer Registry seeks a highly motivated scientist to work in a dynamic and cross-functional team to study previously unknown immunological characteristics related to progression of human papillomavirus infection to the cancer. A novel technology platform termed Mimotope Variation Analysis (MVA) has been applied www.protobios.com. Profiles of epitope/ mimotope recognition by millions of antibodies (immunoprofiles) has been generated, reflecting the status of the body’s immunological response associated with the progression of human papillomavirus infections.

Job description,
• to analyse and interpret MVA data of next generation sequencing, using suitable methods for multivariate analysis, including machine learning, multiple sequence alignment and sequence homology search methods, pathway and network analysis methods
• interact with research scientists on biomarker discovery, mechanism of action, and disease biology-related projects at every stage of the project, from experimental design to data analysis and interpretation
• drive the generation and testing of hypothesis leading to new biological insights
• effectively communicate analytical results with internal project collaborators through both presentations and one-on-one interactions
• communicate research results in international journals and participation at national and international conferences
• participate in grant application processes.
