Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist (Postdoc)

starting between October 2017 and March 2018.

Research Project
The candidate is expected to perform independent research in the area of computational mass spectrometry with a focus on novel algorithms for the quantification and identification of protein species through a combination of top-down and bottom-up mass spectrometry.


Qualifications

Prerequisites
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related life science discipline (with significant experience in bioinformatics). Experience in the analysis of high-resolution top-down mass spectrometric data as well as strong programming/scripting skills (C/C++, R, Python, JavaScript) are essential.

Salary will be according to the German public service (TV-L E13). Initially, the position is limited to 36 months but may be extended further.
