The University of South Florida is seeking to hire 6 new computational biology faculty for an interdisciplinary
campus-wide genomics program, building on currently active, extramurally-funded genomics research
programs. All successful applicants will join an active and well-funded collaborative group of researchers in
Public Health, Integrative Biology, Marine Science, Nursing, Medicine, Cell Biology, Microbiology, and
Molecular Biology. Administratively housed in the USF College of Public Health Department of Global
Health on the USF Tampa campus, the new faculty will be expected to develop independently-funded
research projects and to interface with existing investigators from several colleges and departments across
campus. Research directions may include computational biology, human genomics, viral genomics,
epigenetics, and the microbiome.
Three positions will be tenure-track at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor with a generous
start-up packet. Three positions will be research-track at the rank of Assistant Professor. The positions will
include space in the Interdisciplinary Research Building (IDRB), which houses 10,000 square foot BSL-2
space, 4,000 square foot BSL-3 space, and 4,000 square foot ACL-2 insectary.

Qualifications

All applicants must have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD from an accredited institution with research training and
experience in computational biology. Candidates at the Full or Associate Professor level are expected to
have an established research program with a strong record in peer-reviewed publications in genomics

research, a strong track record of mentorship and/or evidence of teaching, and preferably experience in
obtaining competitive extramural grants. Successful applicants for the research-track Assistant Professor
positions are expected to have a strong record in peer-reviewed publications in genomics research and a
desire to engage full-time in interdisciplinary, competitively-funded genomics research.
