Position Highlights:

· Development of analysis pipelines utilizing open source, commercial and novel software tools and packages.
· Development of new applications and tools for the analysis of "omics" data with a focus on proteomics and metabolomics data sets.


The Ideal Candidate

· Experienced bioinformatician that specializes in the analysis of large data sets and is experienced in mass spectrometry and proteomics data.

· The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, and will be very engaged and hands-on with faculty and staff and will work closely with members of the Cancer Informatics Core scientific and administrative teams.

· The candidate will bring knowledge of bioinformatics tools, data analysis and integration along with a strong customer service based approach.

Responsibilities:
· Development of analysis pipelines utilizing open source, commercial and novel software tools and packages.
· Development of new applications and tools for the analysis of "omics" data with a focus on proteomics and metabolomics.
· Possess and display excellent written and verbal communication skills in all methods of communications to both external and internal end users.
· Must be able to perform with adequate supervision and follow project deliverables and timelines.


Qualifications

Credentials and Qualifications:

· Master's degree in the specific area of bioinformatics with core specific advanced training and work experience.
· At least 5 years of science related experience with at least 2 years in core facility specific applications.
· PhD preferred.
