Description

A postdoctoral fellow position in structural bioinformatics and genomics is available at the Department of Statistics at Florida State University (FSU). The major duty is to develop statistical and computational approaches for protein and RNA structure alignment/analysis, and to apply them to protein/RNA/chromosome classification and function prediction. The research will also integrate structure information with genomics information to perform integrative studies in cancer genomics and personalized medicine. Candidates with a PhD in statistics, computational biology, bioinformatics, mathematics, or computer science will be considered. Solid background in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics or applied mathematics and excellent programming skills (in python, C, C++ and/or R) are required. Some general knowledge of biomolecular structures is desirable.
