Description

The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg has recently created a local representation in the European bioinformatics infrastructure ELIXIR. This Luxembourgish ELXIR Node (elixir-luxembourg.org), hosted at the LCSB, is dedicated to translational medicine data management and provides infrastructure, training and services.

To support the establishment and operation of the Luxembourgish ELIXIR Node, we are looking for a

Science manager (Research Associate) for the Luxembourgish ELIXIR Node (m/f)

Ref:S-STR-4029-00-B
Fixed-term contract for 3 years, 40hours/week, renewable employee status

Your Role

You will manage the establishment, organization and strategy development of the Node, reporting to the Head of the Node, as well as

initiate, manage and monitor activities of the Node with team members and other stakeholders,
liaise with national and international stakeholders for the identification and preparation of common initiatives,
collect and summarize data for strategic decisions,
do background research for the conceptual development and the positioning in international initiatives,
write national and international collaborative grants,
raise funds for financial support of new activities,
provide summaries and a diligent follow-up of strategic meetings,
organise tasks around the execution of the Node.

Qualifications

Your Profile

PhD in biomedical or computational sciences or master’s degree and previous work experience
Knowledge of the interface between computational and biomedical research is required
Knowledge of bioinformatics or computational sciences and a willingness to acquire further knowledge is necessary
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English and at least orally in French or German
Proven experience of collaborative research, research management and project management
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills are required
Ability to effectively organise, prioritise and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
