Description

The Yu Lab is looking for self-motivated postdoctoral researchers with a strong
background of bioinformatics to develop big biological data analysis tool to 1) elucidate
transcriptional mechanisms and epigenetic dynamics in normal or disease processes; 2)
identify novel therapeutics for common and rare diseases; 3) discovery of novel
functional modules from metagenomics data.

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the selected candidate will be
expected to:
• Develop computational software/methods for analyzing high-throughput
sequencing data, e.g., ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq and Bisulfite-Seq data.
• Develop analysis pipelines to process and integrate multiple biological datasets.
• Publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at
seminars and conferences.
• Work cooperatively with lab members and collaborators.


Qualifications

• Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, computer science, or a
related scientific/technical discipline
• Experience in Linux
• Skills in manipulating and analyzing of large datasets and proficiency in at least
one of the following programming languages: Python, R, Perl, C++
• Experiences with big biological data analysis, e.g., high throughput sequencing
data.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
