The Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine invites applications for open-rank faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level. The department anticipates more than one hire.
Successful applicants will have expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning and will lead independent research programs that develop and apply computational methods to improve health care. Areas include imaging, waveform, video, language, electronic health record, and biological data, with applications in cancer, neuroscience, cardiovascular health, musculoskeletal health and orthopedics, or transplant.
Responsibilities include leading an externally supported research program, developing innovative computational approaches, publishing impactful research, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring trainees. This is a full-time hybrid position in Aurora, Colorado, with three days per week on campus and in-person meetings as needed.


Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in biomedical informatics or a related technical field, or an MD/DO with an appropriate graduate technical degree, and have accomplishments consistent with appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level.
Preferred qualifications include multimodal biomedical informatics research; work relevant to the department's clinical focus areas; extramural funding appropriate to career stage; development of software or tools used beyond the applicant's group; and sustained collaboration with clinical investigators. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
