CUBRe is running 2 NIH and 1 German Research Foundation (aka DFG) grants. For details on the NIH grants, namely, H3AbioNet and WASLITBRe, see the following website: cubreweb.vercel.app/. The DFG grant was awarded to us to continue our work on the development of evolution proof insecticides against malaria infected mosquitoes. This is a work between us and a German group in Jena, Germany.
In view of this, CUBRe is looking for highly talented and motivated candidates for 2 Postdoctoral positions. One to be based at CUBRe, Ota, Nigeria and the other to be based at the Applied Bioinformatics department at DKFZ, Heidelberg, Germany. Appropriate German E13 salary scale will apply for the position at the DKFZ.
Postdoc position: A PhD degree in Biochemistry or other related Biological Science degree courses. Must have an exceptional educational record from BSc to PhD level. Must have published good articles or research work in high impact journal/s and having worked previously with experiments involving genes knockdown/knockout will be an added advantage.. PhD Microbiology position: An MSc degree in Microbiology with PhD grade and at least second class upper division in the BSc degree program. Previous working experience in an insectary lab and with mosquito A. gambiae will be an added advantage.
