A postdoctoral position is currently open in the group of Dr. Ivan Ovcharenko at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Our group is investigating gene regulatory mechanisms in the human genome using computational approaches. We are particularly interested in the development of machine learning methods for accurate prediction of disease causative non-coding variants in enhancers and silencers.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with experience in regulatory/functional genomics, deep learning, statistics. A major component of this work will rely on combining genomic data, machine learning, and whole-genome data integration to decipher the semantics of the gene regulatory code.

Strong skills in computational biology, genome data mining, or deep learning would be beneficial. A Ph.D. degree is required. Applicants should have no more than 5 years of prior postdoctoral experience.
