Applications are sought for a Tissue Bank Data Scientist to design, develop and maintain an IT infrastructure for the maintenance of a sample repository from the Operational Centre (OC) of the Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank. The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent, proficient in Unix/Linux environment, SQL querying and database development and R programming. The research will be based in the Barts Cancer Institute, Charterhouse Square within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include a degree in a relevant subject and sound knowledge in web application development scripting language (PHP, Javascript), with proficiency in Unix/Linux, SQUL, R programming. Experience with biological databases would be an advantage.
