Description

The Environmental Genomics and Systems Biology (EGSB) team includes a varied group of experimentalists and computationalists within the Environmental Laboratory of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to complex biological problems using a comprehensive approach that is both multiscale and multidisciplinary.

EGSB is currently accepting CVs/resumes and portfolios for a 1-year postdoc opportunity, with renewal dependent upon funding and performance, in support of our computational biology and bioinformatics projects. The successful applicant will assist in the development of biological and bio-inspired models. Applicants should have obtained a Ph.D. degree in a field indicative of mathematical or computational training, such as biophysics, mathematics, chemical or biological engineering, bioinformatics, computational biology, among others; or will exhibit the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to code mathematical models, develop databases, and perform data mining and data analyses. Knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming is required. The incumbent will work with an experienced and diverse team of Ph.D.-level scientists with expertise in theoretical physics, bioinformatics, genetics, molecular biology, and toxicology. Expected salaries for qualified applicants will be dependent upon experience, but may range between $51,440 - $74,596 per annum.

The Environmental Laboratory (EL) is one of seven DOD-funded laboratories within the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, which is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (www.erdc.usace.army.mil).
