The Bioinformatician will carry out bioinformatic analyses of high-throughput sequencing data to support product development and extend the use case of collection devices and chemistries for new avenues of microbiome and other genomics and transcriptomics applications. The role will involve executing existing workflows for analyses and contributing to data visualization and interpretation, as well as opportunities to develop and test new custom workflows and data solutions for genomic, metagenomic, and metatranscriptomic data.
Graduate degree in one or more of bioinformatics, computer science, biological sciences, chemistry, microbiology, statistics or applied mathematics, or another related field
Proficient in R, Unix/Linux based system, Shell scripting, Python or Perl or similar scripting languages
Familiarity with GitHub and version control
Practical experience with high-throughput sequence data, specifically microbiome datasets (16S, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics) as demonstrated with publications or project history
Familiarity with publicly available tools and databases for microbiome analysis
Experience in cloud computing environments, specifically Amazon Web Services
