Description

Computational Biology Postdoctoral researcher position is available in the laboratory of Sridhar Hannenhalli at the Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH). We are broadly interested in gene regulatory mechanisms and evolution, with special focus on eukaryotic transcriptional regulation. We harness a variety of high-throughput omics data to address fundamental biological questions as they pertain to both normal organismal functions, as well as diseases, with a special emphasis on cancer. The work involves both methodological development as well as collaborative basic science and clinical applications. The particular project we are embarking on involves exploring the plasticity of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment using single cell and spatial transcriptomics in close collaboration with immunologists. The Hannenhalli Lab is part of the NCI Cancer Data Science Laboratory, a new initiative dedicated to translational omics research and tightly integrated with massive national projects at NCI. As part of a large integrated collaborative branch, the candidates will have ample opportunity for training, collaboration, and mentorship. For more information, please visit our lab homepage.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in computational sciences with high proficiency in bioinformatics, statistics, and machine learning, as well as interest and curiosity in biological mechanisms. Candidates with a background in transcriptional regulation, epigenomics, and cancer genomics will be preferentially considered.

Start date
