A NIH-funded postdoctoral position in Computational Oncology are available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhong at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Projects are in the areas of viral oncogenesis and cancer genomics including various oral cancer. We have a particular interest in developing machine learning methods for single cell genomic analysis.

We are seeking competitive candidates who have recently completed a Ph.D. in an applied quantitative discipline, such as computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics or computer science with a strong interest in cancer research. A strong computational background is needed and experience in machine learning is desired, as is previous experience with functional analysis of omics data. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.


Qualifications

-PhD in Computational Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related technical discipline.
-Excellent programming ability
-Experience with machine learning
-Experience working with genomic datasets
